چکیده

Abstract A Biophillic city reconnects man with nature through green spaces which foster mental and physical productivity. The industrial revolution ushered in a wave of technological deterministic choices at the expense environmental processes fashioning cities. background this research is set urban residential fabric metropolitan Lagos. This study relevant because Lagos metropolis, areas have land use zoning 52% as opposed to 2.8% for open spaces. aims investigate greenness index or NDVI three selected estates each representative densities (low, medium, high) its indications abundance dearth greenspaces. sampling frame was gotten by multi-stage random data collection tool used high-resolution object-oriented imagery. analysis made geo-referencing ARCGIS ERDAS IMAGINE software. results show Normalized Difference Vegetation (NDVI) values are low (<0.2) thus revealing negligible vegetation. In conclusion, observed within on ground truth basis been substantiated research. Therefore, it important consider actions improve well ensure that peri-urban settlements rapidly developing do so sustainable manner based principles.

Multifractal Downscaling of Rainfall Using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) in the Andes Plateau

In this paper, a multifractal downscaling technique is applied to adequately transformed and lag corrected normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) in order to obtain daily estimates of rainfall in an area of the Peruvian Andean high plateau. This downscaling procedure is temporal in nature since the original NDVI information is provided at an irregular temporal sampling period between 8 a...

Global Trends in Seasonality of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), 1982-2011

A 30-year series of global monthly Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) imagery derived from the Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping Studies (GIMMS) NDVI3g archive was analyzed for the presence of trends in changing seasonality. Using the Seasonal Trend Analysis (STA) procedure, over half (56.30%) of land surfaces were found to exhibit significant trends. Almost half (46.10%) of the ...

Preliminary comparison of landscape pattern-normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) relationships to Central Plains stream conditions.

We explored relationships of water quality parameters with landscape pattern metrics (LPMs), land use-land cover (LULC) proportions, and the advanced very high resolution radiometer (AVHRR) normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) or NDVI-derived metrics. Stream sites (271) in Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri were sampled for water quality parameters, the index of biotic integrity, and a hab...

Interannual variations of monthly and seasonal normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) in China from 1982 to 1999

[1] In this paper, we analyzed interannual variations of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and their relationships with climatic variables (temperature and precipitation) and human activity in China between 1982 and 1999. Monthly and seasonal NDVI increased significantly at both the country and biome scales over the study period. NDVI shows the largest increase (14.4% during the 18 ...
